Strategic plan (2021-2024)
Our Strategic plan ‘A new future for mental health’ outlines how we will work with others to create a mental health system powered by lived experience. It sets our our vision, mission, values and strategic aims.
Over the next three years we will work with people, groups, services and organisations across Scotland to:
- Improve the engagement of people with lived experience in the development of mental health strategy and implementation
- Develop peer support opportunities and peer working roles across the mental health system
- Support the transformation of mental health services and supports through the adoption of recovery concepts and approaches

How can we bring about the changes needed to transform Scotland’s mental health system? (BSL version included).
Read the planOur role is as a catalyst for change and a facilitator of new ways of working. Our approach is to work with people and organisations at a local and national level to deliver collaborative recovery projects. From this we will share experiences and learning through our communications, by developing resources and delivering learning opportunities and events.
Get involved
We will announce different ways to work with us and others over the next few months. To get the ball rolling we have launched the Peer2Peer development programme! The aim of the programme is to increase the use of Peer2Peer across Scotland. We want to create a learning network of people passionate about the power of peer support!
Want to make sure lived experience is at the heart of how you design, develop and deliver support? Interested in developing peer approaches? We’d love to hear from you
Together we can make Scotland a place where people expect mental health recovery and get the support they need.
