Peer leadership in health and social care: 28 August

A chance to hear from Deb Owen, author of ‘The Role of Lived Experience Within Health and Social Care Systems’ and explore what peer support leadership looks like in practice.

Are you passionate about embedding different types of lived experience leadership roles across communities, organisations and services?

We can’t wait to welcome our special guest Deb Owen, Peer Support Lead at Sussex Partnership NHS Trust, to Glasgow for this Peer Connects event! Deb is author of Imroc Briefing Paper 26 ‘The Role of Lived Experience Within Health and Social Care Systems’ (with Emma Watson and Julie Repper – 2024).

Join us as together we explore what lived experience leadership really looks like in practice, and how we can build sustainable leadership pathways to drive meaningful change across Scotland’s mental health system.

Who is the event for?

This Peer Connects event takes place in Glasgow on Thursday 28 August from 11:30-15:00. It is for people in lived experience and peer roles, policy-makers, commissioners and other professionals interested in peer leadership in health, social care and community settings. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Due to our funding commitments, this event is for people living / working in Scotland, but learning will be shared in our newsletter and through the Peer Recovery Hub
