Historic Adoption Peer Support zine workshops: 25 & 26 November
This Adoption Week Scotland, Health in Mind are bringing people affected by historic adoption practices together for peer support, crafts and chat.
Historic Adoption Peer Support service is for mothers, adoptees and family members affected by Historic Adoption practices in Scotland. Health in Mind runs this service.
Historic Adoption, also known as forced adoption, refers to practices taking place from the 1950s to 1980s. This involved new-born babies unnecessarily being taken away from unmarried mothers and placed for adoption. This was without regard for the mothers’ and children’s needs or wishes.
