Creating Hope with Peer support: 21 March

Live or work in Perth & Kinross? Want to connect with others interested in the role of community-based peer support in suicide prevention?

This participative event will be co-facilitated by Scottish recovery Network, Perth & Kinross Suicide Prevention Lead and local partners. The event will provide the opportunity to:

  • Explore together the impact that community-based peer support can have for those affected by suicide
  • Share learning and experiences
  • Discuss what good support looks like now and in the future

The event takes place on Thursday 21 March 2024 from 10:00-12:30 in Perth. Book your place via this link to our Eventbrite page

Refreshments will be provided on the day. We will also have a quiet space should anyone need to take some time away from the session.

A bit of background

The Scottish Government and COSLA’S Suicide Prevention Strategy and Action Plan – Creating Hope Together – recognises the valuable contribution of peer support in our communities.

Creating Hope with Peer Support brings people from across sectors and different walks of life together, to connect and explore the role peer support can play in suicide prevention.

With a focus on the power of lived experience to affect positive change, the project is working with a wide range of partners to boost peer support groups in communities across the country. It is helping to build capacity so that people and families affected by suicide can receive help at the earliest opportunity.
